we could talk about our customers all day long but we’re sure you would much rather hear what they have to say about working with us!
“With this new fleet we have significantly reduced the number of trucks on the road, as well as our diesel milage and gas emissions, all whilst achieving fantastic DIFOT results and a drop in product damage to less than 0.1%”
“About 8 years ago, we decided to review our logistics networks and went to market with a series of tenders to explore ways to improve our freight reliability, as well as create greater efficiencies and reduce product damage.
Booth’s Transport approached us having done some in-depth laneway analysis with a plan to roll out a 10 axle 60t fleet and setup what at the time would be only the second heavy permitted laneway in New Zealand. This new dedicated fleet would allow us to have less trucks on the road, whilst still meeting the requirement to have the site serviced 7 days a week, 350 days of the year. This was done by scaling up from 24t loads to 40t loads, allowing us to significantly reduce our gas emissions and diesel mileage, as well as reduce the total number of trucks needed to be both on the road and onsite. Addition of eRoad tracking would also provide the necessary visibility to prepare for the inbound truck by picking the product and creating the manifest before they arrive and therefore turn them around with much greater efficiencies.
After making the call to give Booth’s Transport a go, we experienced a seamless implementation, exceptional communication and flexibility to move with surging production rates where needed. With the establishment of this new and captive fleet we have experienced fantastic DIFOT results and because the new fleet included countersunk floors and headboards, as well as “curved” corner boards, our product damage rates have dropped from 3 – 4% per annum to what is now less than 0.1%.”
Over the past eight years Booth’s Transport has grown into a key component of our logistics programmes and has established themselves as a preferred supplier. I have no hesitation in recommending Booth’s Transport to any company wanting to partner with someone with a ‘Can Do’ attitude, who understands the value of having good gear and prides themselves on following through with what they say they will do.”

“In any given year Tomoana move in excess of 5000 containers for us”
“Through various different entities and transport routes we have been working with Tomoana Warehousing for about 10 years. Tomoana look after one of our busiest road container laneways transporting UHT milk to the Port of Tauranga. Many of our clients have highly seasonal and often regional plants, making it really important for us to partner with strong national transport providers. As a company we don’t allow for very much margin of error, so it’s crucial for us to pick transport providers that not only offer a reliable and high quality service, but deeply understand the complexities required to meet all necessary compliance and safety requirements, whilst balancing this alongside tight port delivery windows and fluctuating seasonal peaks.
In any given year, Tomoana move in excess of 5000 containers for us on this route. Some of the things we value the most out of working with them is their strong health and safety focus, as well as their willingness to look for new innovative ways to support efficiencies and aide improvements. One example of this is the onsite Combilift and staffing they provide to ensure quick and efficient container turn arounds, as well as onsite expertise in terms of day to day container movements, repairs and maintenance.
The transport space in New Zealand is highly competitive, however Tomoana have proven to us to offer a consistent and reliable high quality service, which is ultimately why we continue to partner with them to implement this high volume of work, across what is one of our largest road container transport laneways.”

“We feel that our distribution has never been in better hands”
“NZ Drinks was established in 2010 and over the last 10 years, we have used a number of transport providers and feel that our distribution has never been in better hands.
Booth’s Transport had been our service provider for the Lower North Island for a number of years, providing our customers with excellent service. Earlier this year the opportunity arose to move our Upper North Island business from our previous supplier, to exclusively Booth’s and it is was an easy decision for the management team to the make.
The high level of service they provide, the relationships built over the years, and Booth’s ability to upscale at short notice for increase demand, whether that be through natural disaster, or seasonal increases in demand: the team are always able to step up and provide a first class service standard.
We see Booth’s as more than a service provider and more as an extension of our own business. They are the key link between NZ Drinks and our customers. We feel this role is a crucial one and one that Booth’s excel in providing. We would not hesitate to recommend them as the first choice to move our product throughout New Zealand.”

“Outsourcing of our transport and warehousing to specialists has been a great move. It allows us to save time and hassle by letting us focus our energy on growth without being hamstrung by our own resources”
“The Natural Food Group has always had a strong focus on sales and marketing which has resulted in year-on-year growth for the past 10 years. Partnering with Tomoana Warehousing has been an important part of our growth strategy allowing us to scale up quickly as sales dictates. Some of our favourite features of working with Tomoana would have to be their fantastic customer service, broad scope of services and the fact they make our business easier to manage, because we know what’s going to happen and therefore everything can run like clockwork.
As a 3PL logistics provider, Tomoana is well geared up for an account like ours. We utilise a broad range of their transport, warehousing, devanning, MPI approved facility and local delivery services across both large and small unit movements. Whether that be export of containers to our offshore distributors, or single unit pick and pack solutions for direct to stores movements to our New Zealand retailers.
As we are classified as a food manufacturer, there are a lot of regulatory requirements to navigate to ensure everything runs efficiently and all MPI certifications needs are met. Coupled with this, and the fact we are a fast moving progressive business with high stock turns, outsourcing of our transport and warehousing to specialists has been a great move. This saves us time and hassle by letting us focus our energy on growth without being hamstrung by our own resources.
We have always found the team at Tomoana to be enthusiastically engaged, adaptable and prepared to take the time to really get to know our business needs inside and out, in order to ensure they are able to continue to grow and evolve with us.”

“We continue to partner with Tomoana because they have a great team, any problems are sorted quickly, and they focus on getting the job done right. That puts them up high in our books.”
“AFFCO is a leading meat processing company in New Zealand with four processing plants located in Napier, Whanganui, Rangiuru and Fielding. About four years ago we undertook a review process of our transport and logistics movements with a key focus on looking for opportunities for efficiencies, specifically around the Tauranga, Wellington and Napier ports. Given Tomoana Warehousing have their core functions operating in Hastings and Tauranga the choice for us was a very strategic one which provided mutual benefits and efficiencies for both us and them. We have been working with Tomoana since then and now move nearly half of our annual export containers through them.
From day one, Tomoana have been very approachable, are quick to provide solutions and they always pick up the phone. From time to time, we have different requirements out of the normal day to day, however Tomoana have the flexibility and fleet to get the job done – nothing seems to phase them. They are proactive and always look at the transport solution as a whole.
We continue to partner with Tomoana because they have a great team, any problems are sorted quickly and they focus on getting the job done right. That puts them up high in our books.”

“Booth’s high calibre drivers are courteous, helpful and willing to go the extra mile to ensure our customers receive seamless deliveries.”
“Supsup is a 100% New Zealand owned and operated company supplying straw & supplement directly from paddock to farmer, primarily throughout the Waikato, Taranaki and Bay of Plenty regions. Our strategic partnership with Booths Transport Ltd ensures we can deliver on time and in full.
Booth’s have extensive experience in all facets of transportation and take the time to thoroughly understand the complexity of our business. We have sporadic and fluctuating needs, Booth’s are highly flexible and do as much as they possibly can to meet our requirements.
We cover some relatively remote locations in our line of business, however, Booth’s are highly organised at managing all aspects of both pick-up and drop-off to these points. Their order tracking system we have access to provides visibility over many parts of our order journey which saves us valuable time and allows us to provide live updates to our customers around status and timing.
Most importantly, Booth’s high calibre drivers are courteous, helpful and are willing to go the extra mile to ensure our customers receive seamless deliveries.”
“Using a 3PL provider can be nerve-racking. You entrust your inventory into someone else’s care and relying on other people to take the same care of your products, as you would in terms of storage, transportation, and presentation. When it comes to Tomoana they are meticulous, have fantastic staff and great gear – we couldn’t ask for better!”
“Agritrade manufactures and distributes products for farmer and grower production, agronomy, animal nutrition, land development and crop/orchard inputs throughout New Zealand. They are the distribution arm for PGG Wrightson and have two distribution centres in Hamilton and Rolleston.
A few years ago, we were looking for a port based 3PL to help us improve our offshore flow. With operations located close to the Napier and Tauranga ports, we chose to partner with Tomoana Warehousing, and we haven’t been let down. Their service is exceptional, and it’s only gotten better. Whenever there’s a problem, Tomoana look at the outcome first and then reverse engineer it from there to get the best results for everyone.

I believe you can’t have great service without great people. Tomoana has great people, and for us, it all comes down to that. They are like family; they look after their own.”
